Storage Duration

Unless a more specific storage period has been specified in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for data processing no longer applies. If you make a legitimate deletion request or revoke consent for data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g., tax or commercial retention periods); in the latter case, deletion occurs after these reasons cease to apply.

Legal Bases for Data Processing on This Website

If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data based on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR in the case of special categories of data under Art. 9(1) GDPR. In the case of explicit consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, processing is additionally based on Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR. Further legal bases are explained in the following sections of this privacy policy.

Notice on Data Transfers to Non-Secure Third Countries and US Companies Not Certified under the DPF

We use tools from companies based in non-secure third countries in terms of data protection, as well as US tools whose providers are not certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). When these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to these countries and processed there. We note that in non-secure third countries, no level of data protection comparable to that in the EU can be guaranteed.

We also note that the USA, as a generally safe third country, provides a level of data protection comparable to the EU. A data transfer to the USA is permissible if the recipient is certified under the "EU-US Data Privacy Framework" (DPF) or has appropriate additional guarantees. Information on data transfers to third countries, including the recipients of the data, can be found in this privacy policy.

Recipients of Personal Data

As part of our business activities, we work with various external entities. This may include the transfer of personal data to these external entities. We only transfer personal data to external parties if this is necessary for contract fulfillment, if we are legally required to do so (e.g., transfer of data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest in the transfer under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or if another legal basis permits the data transfer. When using data processors, we only transfer personal data of our customers based on a valid data processing agreement. In cases of joint processing, a joint processing agreement is concluded.

Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing

Many data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent. You can revoke consent at any time. The legality of the data processing carried out before the revocation remains unaffected.

IF DATA PROCESSING IS BASED ON ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME, FOR REASONS ARISING FROM YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING THAT OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS, AND FREEDOMS OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ASSERTION, EXERCISE, OR DEFENSE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(1) GDPR).

IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR DIRECT MARKETING PURPOSES, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING INSOFAR AS IT IS ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to other administrative or judicial remedies.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to have data that we process automatically based on your consent or in fulfillment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another responsible party, this will only be done to the extent technically feasible.

Access, Correction, and Deletion

Within the scope of applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipient, and the purpose of the data processing and, if necessary, a right to correction or deletion of this data. For this purpose, as well as for further questions regarding personal data, you can contact us at any time.

Right to Restrict Processing

You have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data. To do so, you can contact us at any time. The right to restrict processing applies in the following cases:

  • If you dispute the accuracy of your stored personal data, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the review, you have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data.

  • If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you may request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.

  • If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it to exercise, defend, or assert legal claims, you have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of deletion.

  • If you have lodged an objection under Art. 21(1) GDPR, a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. As long as it has not been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of processing of your personal data.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data may only be processed – apart from being stored – with your consent or for the assertion, exercise, or defense of legal claims or to protect the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a member state.

4. Data Collection on This Website

Cookies

Our website uses so-called "cookies." Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your device. They are either stored temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (persistent cookies) on your device. Session cookies are automatically deleted after your visit. Persistent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or they are automatically deleted by your web browser.

Cookies may be set by us (first-party cookies) or by third-party companies (third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services from third-party companies within websites (e.g., cookies for processing payment services).

Cookies serve different functions. Many cookies are technically necessary because certain website functions would not work without them (e.g., the shopping cart function or displaying videos). Other cookies may be used to analyze user behavior or for advertising purposes.

Cookies that are necessary to carry out electronic communications, to provide certain functions you have requested (e.g., shopping cart function), or to optimize the website (e.g., cookies for measuring the web audience) are stored based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. If consent for storing cookies and similar recognition technologies has been requested, processing is based exclusively on this consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TTDSG); consent can be revoked at any time.

You can set your browser to inform you about the setting of cookies and to allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for specific cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are disabled, the functionality of this website may be restricted.

Details on which cookies and services are used on this website can be found in this privacy policy.

  • Browser type and browser version

  • Operating system used

  • Referrer URL

  • Hostname of the accessing computer

  • Time of the server request

  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources.

The collection of this data is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of its website – for this, server log files must be recorded.

Contact Form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and for follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your consent.

The processing of this data is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your request is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in effectively processing inquiries directed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if requested; consent can be revoked at any time.

The data you enter in the contact form remains with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after completing your inquiry). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

Inquiry by Email, Telephone, or Fax

If you contact us by email, telephone, or fax, your inquiry, including all personal data arising from it (name, inquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of processing your request.

The data you send to us via contact inquiries remains with us until you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after completing your request). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular, statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.

5. Social Media

Social Media Elements with Shariff

This website uses elements of social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, X, Instagram, Pinterest, XING, LinkedIn, Tumblr). You can usually recognize the social media elements by the respective social media logos.

To protect your privacy on this website, we only use these elements together with the so-called “Shariff” solution. This application prevents the social media elements integrated into this website from transmitting your personal data to the respective provider when you first visit the site.

Only when you activate the respective social media element by clicking the corresponding button is a direct connection to the provider’s server established (consent). As soon as you activate the social media element, the respective provider receives the information that you have visited this website with your IP address. If you are logged into your social media account (e.g., Facebook) at the same time, the provider can associate your visit to this website with your user account.

Activating the plugin constitutes consent within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TTDSG. You can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future.

The service is used to obtain the legally required consents for the use of certain technologies. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.

Facebook

Elements of the social network Facebook are integrated into this website. The provider of this service is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland. According to Facebook, however, the collected data is also transferred to the USA and other third countries.

An overview of the Facebook social media elements can be found here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/?locale=en_US.

When the social media element is active, a direct connection is established between your device and the Facebook server. As a result, Facebook receives the information that you have visited this website with your IP address. If you click the Facebook “Like button” while logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of this website to your Facebook profile. This allows Facebook to associate your visit to this website with your user account. Please note that, as the provider of these pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or how it is used by Facebook. Further information can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy at: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation.

Where consent has been obtained, the above service is used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25 TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time. Where no consent has been obtained, the service is used on the basis of our legitimate interest in the widest possible visibility on social media.

Insofar as personal data is collected on our website by means of the tool described here and forwarded to Facebook, we and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland, are jointly responsible for this data processing (Art. 26 GDPR). 6. Newsletter Data

If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the provided email address and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected, or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not disclose it to third parties.

The processing of the data entered into the newsletter subscription form is based solely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the email address, and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the "Unsubscribe" link in the newsletter. The legality of data processing already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you provide for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from the newsletter distribution list after unsubscribing. You can object to this storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.

7. Plugins and Tools – Google reCAPTCHA

We use "Google reCAPTCHA" (hereinafter "reCAPTCHA") on this website. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

reCAPTCHA is used to check whether data input on this website (e.g., in a contact form) is made by a human or by an automated program. For this purpose, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g., IP address, the time the visitor spends on the website, or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google.

The reCAPTCHA analyses take place entirely in the background. Website visitors are not informed that an analysis is taking place.

The storage and analysis of the data are based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings from abusive automated crawling and spam. If the appropriate consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TTDSG, provided that the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information in the user’s terminal device (e.g., device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TTDSG. The company is certified under the "EU-US Data Privacy Framework" (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the USA that ensures compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the USA.
